22 Aug Traditional Yoga; Guiding Each Step Of Your Journey
Traditional Yoga Is A Perfectly Constructed Journey
The ancient methods of traditional yoga are based on a mentor system. I journey of perfect discovery for the learner that is expertly timed by their faithful teacher. The yogi guru exposes their student to new ideas, new concepts and new challenges at exactly the right time. This is the traditional yoga method for true realisation in the mind and body.
Facilitating Traditional Yoga For Your Own Discoveries
Here at Yoga Harmony we offer teaching and guidance in the forms of traditional yoga methods. With Ashtanga and Knoff Yoga we facilitate the same personal journey, that many yogis before you have tread, here in the modern day.
Traditional yoga is based around the 8 limbs of yoga. Incorporating these aspects, particularly Pranayama (breathing techniques), asana and meditation, our classes guide you on a path to purify your body, mind and soul.
We provide Ashtanga yoga at Yoga Harmony as a means for our teaches to help our students learn about themselves on a deeper level, accessed with the 8 limbs of yoga. Brought to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Ashtanga as a traditional yoga method aims to purify the body.
Purifying or detoxing the body improves circulation and therefore promotes Prana energy flow. Increasing energy in your body cultivates a light and strong being and a calm mind. Ashtanga yoga achieves this through a structured series of poses with a format that moves the student along a path of self discovery. Traditional yoga practices allow you to access the true Self via opening the body and stripping away the falsities of the mind.
As a victim of war Nicky Knoff was exposed to the devastating effects that negative energy, and its hold on the world, at a very early age. Throughout her life she has learnt from the most renowned yoga gurus in the world, and therefore created a style of yoga that acts to address each human on all levels of being.
Based on the premise that education is just as important as the practice, Knoff yoga is a structured method based on traditional yoga. Stemming from Ashtanga, Iyengar and Vinyasa, each class (which targets a certain skill level) consists of Meditation, Pranayama, Asana, Relaxation and Philosophy. The practice is well explained and easy to follow.
Knoff yoga supports the idea of learners accessing their highest potential by progressing through stages that are reflective of the 8 Limbs of traditional yoga. This ensures every student is practicing safely and is actively achieving healing of the mind and body at any stage of their life.
Overall each segment of Knoff yoga works as a holistic practice to calm the mind, improve vital energy, stretch and strengthen the body, heal the nervous system and guide us all to live a meaningful life.
